Harmaa aamu taas kerran vaan eipä satanut.

Kaupungista ulos Breosovin tietä pitkin kunnes odotettu tienviitta näytti tietä 7C.

Pienen paussin jälkeen käännyimme kohti etelää ja karpaatteja. Tiellä oli kaikenlaisia varoitusmerkintöjä ja mainintoja suljetusta tiestä.

Kohta vastaan tulikin pari Sveitsiläistä motoristia jotka olivat ohittaneet meidät päätiellä näyttäen käsimerkillä että tie on poikki. jatkoimme kuitenkin matkaa kunnes tulimme köysiradan ala-asemalle jossa oli parkissa useita asuntoautoja ja kohta tiellä olikin betoniporsaat estämässä etenemistä.
Pikainen tuumaustauko ja kun palkkien väistä kuitenkin pääsi niin päätimme ajaa niin pitkälle kuin vain pääsee. Tiellä oli irtosoraa ja kivenlohkareita mutta matka jatkui ylös sumuuun.

Mitä ylemmäksi tulimme sitä vähemmän oli sumua ja luntakin alkoi olla tien sivussa. Vastaan tuli kauhakuormaaja joka oli avaamassa tietä, kuski vain viitaasi että eteenpäin, eikä meitä juurikaan tarvinnut usuttaa lisää.

 

Köysiradan yläasemalla oli kevään kunnostustyöt käynnissä, pidimme lyhyen tauon ja jatkoimme matkaa pitkän ja pimeän tunnelin läpi etelärinteelle. Yhtä kuvaustaukoa lukuunottamatta tulimme alas yhtäsoittoa, todella hienoa mutkatietä.

Alhaalla kylässä tankkaus tauko ja matka jatkui kohti Branin kaupunkia. Tottakai ajoimme pienempää tietä pitkin jossa ihmettelimme määrävälein rakennettuja betonisia katoksia joiden katon paksuus oli ainakin metri. Koska tiekin oli betonista niin epäilys kääntyi armeijan suuntaan.

Branissa pidimme ruokatauon ja kiipesimme mäen päälle ihmettelemään Branin linnaa jota myös draculan linnaksi kutsutaan. Hienosti entisöity, mutta drulasta ei ollut jälkeäkään muualla kuin matkamuistomyymälöissä.

Pieni pyrähdys ja olimme Brasowin kaupungissa josa majottauduimme piennen pensionaattiin.

Illalla kävimme Jyrkin ystävän Panan kanssa syömässä paikallisessa ravintolassa ja vähän kävelemäässä kaupungin keskustassa. Matkaa päivälle kertyi 300 km

Grey morning, but no rain.
Out of city to the road of Brasow as long as the long waited sign of 7C was ahead.
Small pause and the we headed to south to the Carpathians. There was all kinds of warning signs along the road alos telling that the road is closed. Soon we met couple of Swiss bikers driving back and showing us with their hands that the road is closed but we continued our ride.
At the lower station of the cable car there was parked a lot of mobile homes and soon there was congrete blocks blogging the road.
A quick meeting and as there was space between the blocks, we desided to go on as far as possible.
There was gravel and bricks on the road but we continued up to the fog.
The higher we got the less there was fog and somne snow on the road side. We met a tractor clening the road and the driwer just showed us to continue.
At the upper end of the cable car there ware workers doing summer preparations, we had a small pause and after that contined through a long black tunnel to the southern side of the mountains. One stop for taking photos and drvive all the way to down on a real fine winding road.
Down in a village fueling the bikes and the ahead to the city of Bran. Of course we took the small road where we wondered concrete pavillions over the road having at least one meter roofs.As the road was made of concrete I think that they had something to do with the army.
In brawn we had lunch and also visited the castle of Brawn that has been also called the castle of dracula. The castle was renovated but no sigth of dracula, only in the sovernier shops.
A short drive and we were in the city of Brasow were were owernigth in a small pensionat.
In the evenng we had suppere with Jyrki's frien Pana in a local restaurant.
The days drive was 300km.
